This commissioned piece is a style that I personally adore! But before I started work on it, I enlisted the help of my friend Michael of Michael Maximo. Most of my work up to this point had been in restoring or rehabbing furniture, but this piece needed to be built from scratch.

Michael helped me select walnut wood from a local lumber yard and drew up plans to cut boards for the main piece of the console on the ShopBot at TechShop.

This console is one that I wish I could have kept for myself!  The grain of the wood from the top of the piece waterfalls over to the sides.  And the amazing pop of color makes it stand out at the entrance of it’s new home.
